	Swango Blues Instructors! · Chris is a dancer, DJ, and instructor in Orlando, FL. He has been involved in the Orlando dance scene for over 6 years. He began organizing Swing-Blues dance events 4 years ago; starting the first regular Orlando Blues Dance at Café Annies in downtown and then later teamed up with orlandoblues.org to hold workshops and dances. He has experience in a wide range of improvisational partner dances, including Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing, Blues, Argentine Tango, Charleston, Balboa, Tap/Jazz, and Popping/Locking. He is especially inspired by the dancing of Kevin & Carla (Lindy), Jordan & Tatiana (WCS), Steven & Virginie (Blues), and Fabian Salas (Tango). Teacher: Chris is a natural teacher; teaching various martial arts for 10 years before teaching dance, and lecturing to more than 5,000 college students around the country over the years on computer graphics. Because of this, he is good at breaking down and organizing complex information for students to learn. In his dance classes he explains the history behind the movements, breaks down the technical aspects of the dance, and emphasizes basic technique. DJ: The main thing that drives Chris to dance is a love of the music. His unique playlist has been heard at most of the Swing/Blues venues in Orlando, including UCF's Swing Knight's Friday dance, Late Night Blues at Salsa Heat, Dance Orlando, Whirl & Twirl, and The Zebra Room. He has also been a guest DJ at regional events such as SOFLEX, ORLX, Vero's Beachin’ Swing Weekend, Gainesville’s Stompin’ at the Swamp, and Tampa's Swing Centro. When Chris DJ’s he emphasizes quality, variety, energy, and flow. He believes that the music should sound as close to live music as possible, so he plays a lot of contemporary artists in each genre, as well as classics that pass his sound quality test. You will never hear an old scratchy mono recording when Chris DJ’s. She also enjoys dancing Argentine Tango and Blues. It is the opinion of many leads that she is one of the best, if not the best, follow in Orlando.
